Wouldn’t it be nice if there was an easy and fun way to realize all of your dreams and meet your goals? Creating a unique vision board may be the very thing to help move you in the right direction when implementing the Law of Attraction. Our June 2007 holistic newsletter discussed ‘The Power of the Secret’, also known as the Law of Attraction. This universal law simply says: Like attracts like by means of your thoughts, emotions and beliefs, and what you’re thinking about and the images you hold in your mind, are attracted to you and will become your reality. Learning to make and use a vision board is a complement to the Law of Attraction and a fun way to help pull your dreams into reality. What is a vision board? A vision board is simply a handmade collage each individual personally puts together using pictures, drawings and words of goals and dreams that are desired in ones life. For example, if you would like to have a new car, then you would find a picture of the exact desired car, making sure it’s the make and color you prefer, and paste this picture on your vision board. You may also write beside the picture, “I love driving my new car!” Vision boards can contain material items you want, such as a car or a house, financial goals, and also personal and emotional needs. The pictures you find can come from magazines, the Internet, your own personal photos or you can simply draw the image yourself. Make sure any words used are specific and positive such as: ‘Happy Family’, ‘I passed Biology with an A’, and ‘I earn $100,000/year’. It’s important to use only positive words stated in the present tense as if it's already happening. So, instead of writing, “I’m no longer anxious,” instead write, “I am relaxed and feeling great!” Items Needed: • Cardboard paper, poster or foam board or index cards. • Glue/tape • Scissors • Magazines/photos • Crayons/markers • Your own ideas about what you want to bring into your life How to Use your Vision board/See your Goals in Words & Pictures Once the vision board is complete, hang it in a location where it will be seen many times over the course of the day. This could be the kitchen, the family room, or on the desk at work. If privacy is preferred, keep the vision board tucked away in a safe place only you access or create your vision board using index cards and carry them in your purse or pocket, but remember to take the vision board or index cards out throughout the day. Each time you look at your vision board, visualize yourself already achieving the goals and feel like it's present in your life. It’s not the number of times you look at your board that produces results, rather it’s the feelings and emotions evoked within you that is the real driving force behind the success of vision boards. Looking at your board should inspire and charge you with good feelings of accomplishment and joy. |
